Mary Cooney is a “Mindologist”. She has studied in-depth and embodies—the science of living mindfully. She’s passionate about working with managers to help their employees become more engaged and productive, by showing them proven scientific ways to reduce stress and anxiety both at home and at work.

She facilitates customized training that addresses and identifies employees’ concerns, while providing a forum for employees to discuss and reframe those issues.

Mary Cooney is an award-winning speaker, mentor, trainer and coach. She holds a Masters in Social Work and is certified Helix Practitioner through The Helix Training Program, as well as being a Dharma certified Yoga teacher. She is also a certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher

With a wide range of experience in the corporate, small business and holistic health arenas, Mary is passionate about teaching people to master the art of self-care, connection and communication in order to empower themselves and help their organizations grow. Her audiences have ranged in size from one (as a mentor and coach to many aspiring speakers) to hundreds.

A proud member of Toastmasters International, Mary has achieved Distinguished Toastmaster status and has twice served as a Presidential Distinguished Area Director. In 2017 she was awarded the District 46’s High Performance Leadership Award.

Mary developed much of her expertise, first in social work as a therapist for The Jewish Board of Family & Children services, and then in high level corporate positions where she helped connect people to meaningful careers. She was Director of Recruiting for Citi-Habitats and City Connections, and Director of Strategic Staffing at Aimnet Solutions. In these positions she made professional presentations to large groups and perfected her interviewing, training and sales skills.

Mary holds a Master of Social Work from Hunter College and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Queens College. She also completed the Helix Training Program’s four-year postgraduate program in holistic counseling. As well as the Corporate Coaching Program at Coach University.  She is a graduate and past group leader of Pathways to Successful Living and is certified in Myers Briggs and Robert Holden’s Success Intelligence. She is a member of the International Coaching Federation, National Speakers Association and volunteer mentor for the Association of Talent Development. She believes in lifelong learning and most recently completed training in Google’s “Search Inside Yourself Institute” and has a certificate from “The Science of Well Being”. The Yale course developed by Dr. Laurie Santos.
